Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS Review and Comparison by Thomas
Rating: ★★★★½

Garmin Nüvi 750 review I decided to buy the Garmin nuvi 750 GPS last week and have been testing it thoroughly on a 3 day drive to visit some family alongside my Mercedes internal navigation screen to see if there would really any difference or benefit of having a 3rd party GPS system device for those of us with vehicles that already have preconfigured setups.

I have been nothing but surprised and impressed with the nuvi 750 compared to my internal GPS… it consistently picks different routes, which are both more logical and more consistent. The two most often picked the same route, but there were some serious hiccups looking back now with my included system when compared to the nuvi 750 GPS routing, and one of the most blatant and obvious differences was the times at which the routes were calculated and recalculated accurately when I purposely went off course to see how they both handled the situation.

One of the weaknesses with the garmin unit was the sound, with the built in speaker sounding kind of metallic and in a few cases required more concentration – switching to the FM transmitter you give up the ability to listen to your radio – at least it comes in the box now and doesn’t have to be purchased separately like some of the other GPS systems out there.

Battery life was decent, and the screen is awesome and incredibly readable when the lighter adapter is in… however when you switch the power conservation settings the brightness and readability does drop and wasn’t such a clear cut winner against an internal navigation device in terms of visual readability.

Aside from the fact that the sound and visuals can lack in certain situations, the Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS reviews I’ve been seeing with perfect scores don’t seem to be too far off. I’ll give the nuvi 750 a slightly less then perfect review rating, but it is definitely going to be my preferred device over the internal Mercedes GPS now that I have tested them side by side.
